Prototype to Product

Your AI-built prototype,
turned into a product
your business can rely on

"We told ChatGPT or Claude what we needed, and now we have a working tool — but we're not comfortable rolling it out to the whole team." For small and midsize businesses without in-house engineers, we take vibe-coded prototypes and turn them into products with proper authentication, data management, and operations — without throwing away what already works, and handing over so your team can keep growing it.

Common Challenges

There is a wall between "it works" and "we can rely on it"

Getting a prototype to work is a real achievement. At the same time, there are walls to clear before it can sit at the center of your operations.

It only runs on one PC

The demo works, but there is no way to distribute it to the team. Data lives in local files, and things break as soon as several people use it at once.

Only the builder can fix it

The specification exists only in the builder's head and their AI chat history. A transfer or resignation would bring the tool to a halt.

Security and access are unclear

Nobody can say whether customer data should go into it. There is no login, no access control, and no backup — no way back if something goes wrong.

Our Approach

We don't start from "rebuild everything"

A prototype that has survived contact with real work is a valuable asset. We assess the working artifact first, decide together what to keep and what to rebuild, and then productize it alongside your team.

Assess the real thing first

We look at the running prototype, not a slide deck. We examine the code, the data, and how it is actually used, and estimate the distance to a production-ready product.

  • Technical assessment of code and data structures
  • Review of current security and access control

Separate what stays from what goes

Validated business logic and screen flows are kept as assets; only foundations such as authentication and data management get replaced. We make these keep-or-rebuild calls with you.

  • Clear criteria for "grow it" vs. "rebuild it"
  • A productization roadmap

Hand over while we build

We do not deliver and disappear. In parallel with development, we transfer the know-how — how to change it, how to run it — so improvements keep happening inside your company.

  • Foundations: auth, data management, deployment
  • Handover of operations and change procedures
Why Tied

A team that's good at starting products

Productizing a prototype takes a different muscle from maintaining finished systems: shaping something before the requirements settle, and validating the spec by running it. Tied is largely made up of people who are at their best in exactly that early-stage mode.

Zero-to-one experience

Most of our members have launched products from scratch at early-stage startups and in new-business teams. Building something that works first and firming it up as it runs is how we naturally operate.

Practitioners of AI-driven development

We build our own products with AI every day. Reading and restructuring AI-generated code isn't a novelty to us — it's our normal workflow.

Fluent in both business and code

Cost-benefit and priorities on the management side; implementation on the ground. One team speaks both languages, with no translation layer in between.

Service & Pricing

Our plan

Tailored to the state of your prototype

Prototypes differ in size, in how they were built, and in what the target product needs to be.
After the assessment, we propose a plan and pricing that fit your case.

Pricing
Individual quote

Based on the prototype's state and the scope of productization

What's included

Technical assessment of the prototype (code, data, security)
A productization roadmap with keep-or-rebuild decisions
Foundation work: authentication, access control, data management, deployment
Team rollout plus handover of operations and change procedures

What we aim for

Don't throw the prototype away

A prototype refined against real work contains the answer to "what actually helps the business." We keep as much of that as possible rather than defaulting to a rewrite.

Hand it over able to evolve in-house

We do not build dependence on outside help. The handover covers how to keep improving the product with AI assistance, so it keeps growing inside your company.

How an engagement works

  1. 1

    Contact us

Tell us the outline of your prototype — what it was built with, what it does, and who uses it. It is fine if nothing is organized yet.

  2. 2

    Prototype assessment

We review the working prototype and examine its code, data, and security. We estimate what it needs to run as a product and how far it is from that state.

  3. 3

    Productization plan and quote

We propose what to keep and what to rebuild, along with a schedule, team structure, and quote.

  4. 4

    Embedded development and handover

Once we agree, we build the product together. In parallel with development, we hand over operating procedures and how to make changes, so your team can keep improving it in-house.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Our prototype is just a spreadsheet macro or a Google Apps Script tool built with ChatGPT. Is that in scope?

Yes. The format does not matter — web apps, scripts, Google Apps Script, or no-code tools are all fine. If it is a working prototype that has proven useful in your operations, it is a candidate for productization. Start by telling us what it was built with and what it does.

Won't everything end up being rebuilt from scratch anyway?

We do not start from a full rewrite. After assessing the prototype, we prioritize keeping the validated business logic and screen flows as assets and rebuilding only the foundations, such as authentication and data management. When a rebuild genuinely is faster, we show you why and what the cost difference is, and you make the call.

Can we engage you without any engineers on staff?

Yes. The service assumes a prototype built by a non-engineer using AI tools. The handover is also designed so that a staff member who cannot read code can keep improving the product with AI assistance.

How long does it take?

It depends on the prototype's size and the scope of the target product. As a guide, the assessment takes one to two weeks after we see the working prototype, and productization typically starts small with a one-to-three-month engagement. We give you a specific estimate after the initial consultation.

How much does it cost?

We prepare an individual quote based on the state of the prototype, the scope of productization, and the depth of the handover. Please contact us first — we will propose a plan and pricing based on the assessment.
